Discourse Club
The Discourse Club is an initiative of the Institute aiming to engage in international law and relations topics of current or perpetual interest, through a series of seminars.
The seminars begin with an introductory presentation of the topic and then a discussion takes place between the panel and the audience, during which audience members are given the chance to ask questions and express their opinions about the presented topic.
The Discourse Club panels of speakers mainly consist of undergraduate or postgraduate law students of Democritus University of Thrace, who conduct extensive research on the matter they prepare to present. Professors and professional experts sometimes make up for the speakers.
The preparation of the students’ presentations, as well as the discussion during the seminars are overseen as for their academic integrity by the Director of the Institute.
Several seminars are usually conducted in the span of every academic year.
